Portraiture

My true love within photography lies with portraiture. I aim to highlight the unique and interesting aspects of a personality, rather than empty pursuit of a mere pretty smile.

Portraiture is by no means objective and mine certainly isn't. Every photo is by definition shot from my point of view and therefore also an expression of my personal view of the subject in front of the lens.

As a lawyer I was trained to be able to see both sides of an argument and never take things at face value. To see the best in people, is perhaps for all of us one to the most difficult tasks in life. To me a good portrait is not an indictment of the subject, but rather a vindication and sometimes even a celebration of what is good and noble in a individual.

Or to paraphrase MLK loosely, I am not interested in the colors of the skin, but in the content of the character.
